Meet Dr. Merriman
FOUNDER & OWNER
Dr. Claire Merriman, PT, DPT, MTC, PRPC
Claire is a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist with a focus on pregnant and postpartum women, as well as individuals dealing with bladder, bowel, and sexual dysfunction. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2014 and became a certified Manual Therapist in 2015. After starting in outpatient orthopedics, Claire shifted her career to specialize in Pelvic Health due to the substantial need and impactful improvements in patients' quality of life.
Having worked at the Hoag Pelvic Health Program and obtaining her Pelvic Health Practitioner certification in 2017, Claire is deeply passionate about caring for pregnant and postpartum women. Her personal experience of motherhood inspired her to support women through all stages of the childbirth process and postpartum recovery. In 2020, she founded Merriman Pelvic Health to address the diverse Physical Therapy needs of women.
“I help women maintain active pregnancies, have empowered births, and restore strong postpartum bodies.”
Claire is dedicated to caring for women through all stages of life. She firmly believes in the transformative power of education as a means of empowerment. Claire's mission is to convey to women that many of the pelvic health issues they encounter are not permanent conditions they have to “live with.” Whether it's addressing pain or urinary leakage during pregnancy, rehabilitating the postpartum body for a seamless return to fitness, or tackling bladder and intimacy issues in post-menopausal women, Claire wants women to recognize that there is hope and effective treatment available for them.
An avid beach runner and yoga advocate, Claire, a wife and mother of two, enjoys beach runs, workouts, and outdoor adventures with her family.
