IF YOU PEE A LITTLE WHEN YOU COUGH, LAUGH, SNEEZE, OR JUMP...

  • The pelvic floor is a group of muscles.

  • The top triangle of muscles are the ones that squeeze around and close the urethra.

  • Some cues that work well for engaging these muscles are to imagine “pinching the labia” or “nodding the clitoris.”

  • Speed and coordination is key. Start with practicing quick pinches with 5 seconds of rest in between and then progress to engaging quickly before the activity that causes leakage.

  • If you are having a hard time isolating these muscles on your own, come see a Pelvic PT! It generally just takes a session or two to learn!
